Waltham Forest Council are looking for creative, committed young activists to help them deliver inspiring, relevant work that addresses young people’s concerns on climate change and inspires action, in big and small ways.
Diversity and inclusion is extremely important, as is addressing environmental racism, so they’re especially keen to hear from underrepresented youth activists.
Working with the council they’ll be part of a team to put together a Youth Conference on Climate Change to be held online Monday 8 November - Friday 12 November 2021 linking up with COP26 taking place in Glasgow 1 -12 November 2021.
COP26 is the most important climate summit since the landmark Paris Agreement was agreed at COP21 in 2015.
As part of the conference working group, there’ll be a £50 gift high street gift card to say thank you.
Going forward there’ll be paid and volunteer opportunities to work on other projects such as campaigns, youth assemblies and policy shaping.
This is a real chance to make local leaders hear what’s important to young people plus the experience and insights into local government and policy can be useful for college, Uni or work opportunities in this field.
Any young person interested to get involved needs to complete a short online application by Wednesday 25 August 2021.
